All-of-us Express Children's Theatre
provides the community with live drama performed for and by children. The
performers in our shows are young people ages six to eighteen, and as much as
possible of the behind-the-scenes and front-of-house work is also done by
young people under experienced supervision. From time to time we offer
classes in several areas of the dramatic arts, and are home to the Clowns at Play and
Storybook Story Theatre traveling youth troupes.
The Arts Council of Greater Lansing
works to promote, coordinate and advance the arts and culture in the greater
Lansing area.
BoarsHead Theater is Mid-Michigan's
only professional theater. BoarsHead is nationally acclaimed for producing
new plays and renowned for its top-quality productions, with many award
winning performances and productions and for its very innovative and
comprehensive Education and Outreach Programs.
Creole Gallery's mission
is to showcase talented visual artists, musicians and performers. We feature
the best local and regional acts in addition to national touring musicians.
The floor may be old, but the stage is equipped with a modern sound and light
system. The Creole has only 100 seats, providing the most intimate of
entertainment experiences. There's no smoking and no alcohol, which means the
focus is on the stage. It also means that children and teens are welcome at
performances that are all-ages appropriate.
The Greater Lansing Symphony
Orchestra offers our young audiences opportunities to develop a
progressive awareness and understanding of the orchestra and the music it
plays.
Icarus Falling is a professional
theater ensemble committed to bringing innovative and challenging works to
the stage. Whether a new work or a previously performed piece, IF is
dedicated to the dynamic exploration of the theater experience.
Lansing Civic Players is the
oldest community theater group in the Greater Lansing area. We are committed
to encouraging creative expression through community theater by producing six
regular shows each season, plus special variety and children's shows.
The Michigan Association of Community Arts
Agencies (MACAA) exists to support, strengthen and unite community arts
and cultural organizations in Michigan.
Michigan State University
Community Music School is the major outreach arm of the MSU School of
Music. It serves more than 2,600 individuals–1,600 on a weekly basis.
Classes, lessons, programs, camps and music therapy services serve those of
all ages and abilities in the community.
Riverwalk Theatre is the home
of the Community Circle Players. Riverwalk produces outstanding dramas,
comedies, musicals, and children's shows.
Wharton Center for the
Performing Arts is the home
of Michigan State University's performing arts and the home of CBT's annual
presentation of the Nutcracker.
National Performing Arts Groups
Cyber Dance is a collection of over
3,500 links to classical ballet and modern dance resources on the Internet.
The
Open Directory Project has links to many regional and civic ballet
companies.
The Theater Channel's objective
is to provide innovative, practical and quality theatre to mainstream
audiences; to introduce children to the performing arts through puppetry,
commedia dell arté, dance, etc.; to provide a medium through which a larger
segment of the population can afford the opportunity to experience good
theatre.
